Evangelism Ministry
“The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because He has anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor: He has sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives and recovery of sight to the blind, to set at liberty those who are oppressed.” (Luke 4:18 NKJV)
Evangelism is the act of spreading the gospel. The word comes from the Greek words euaggelion and euaggelizo, meaning “good message” and “to announce” or “preach,” respectively. The word “angel” is hidden in the term, as those practicing evangelism are considered good news messengers.
For Jesus, evangelism was crucial, as it was a means to deliver the message of salvation to all. As the Bible teaches, Jesus came to earth so that we might have life. Therefore, it is His desire that everyone, regardless of their background or circumstances, should know this truth and be able to participate in God’s holy kingdom.

“How then shall they call on Him in whom they have not believed? And how shall they believe in Him of whom they have not heard? And how shall they hear without a preacher?” (Romans 10:14 NKJV)
The gospel must be shared and heard to be believed. We are called to share the gospel message with everyone we meet. The word “Go” in the Great Commission, as recorded in Matthew 28:19 (“Go and make disciples…”), means “as you are going,” or, everywhere you go, share the gospel and make disciples. Below are just a few ways you can “go.”
